What is CPD?
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is the learning professionals do to keep developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
OTalk offers a flexible way to meet your CPD needs. Our monthly chats on the RCOT Communities platform give you the chance to:
- Reflect on practice.
- Share ideas, resources, and lived experiences.
- Connect with colleagues across the profession.
- Keep up to date with new research, guidance, and innovations.
Getting Started
If you’re new to RCOT Communities, don’t worry — it’s fine to observe at first (“lurking”). You can simply read along, explore discussions, and join in when you’re ready. The OTalk team and wider community are here to support you.
Evidencing Your CPD
Joining an OTalk chat is only the start — what matters most is what you learn from it. To support you, we provide reflection logs you can download and complete after each chat.
This helps you:
- Record your learning.
- Link it to your practice.
- Evidence your CPD for the HCPC Standards.
Professionalism Online
Remember, the same professional standards apply online as they do in practice. Please consider confidentiality, data protection, and respectful communication.
